Foster Care – El Abuso – New LP
Regular price
$ 17.00
The latest (and maybe the greatest) from Foster Care, now with Detroit drummer Allison Busch, relentless onslaught of PUNK rock, thick as the iron plate of a tank turret, blasting off numbers like it's going out of style, occasional crackling noise but mostly coming at you fast as a tornado wrecking everything in its path, rebar and barbed wire caught in the twister. -- winch (green noise)
"New York’s Foster Care is back with a brand new LP for Total Punk, and the first since adding Allison Busch (Awesome Colors, Call Of The Wild) on drums. El Abuso finds Foster Care at their most realized. It’s tight wound, ferocious, dark and dare I say smart. Has Foster Care grown up? Have they left their foster parents for the halfway house? An 11 song nineteen minute punk maelstrom. This isn't a collection of songs it's a heaving beast. An absolutely relentless wall of pounding drums, vicious guitar, and gnarly bass rumble with Chris Teenager biting the air above it all. They even finds some moments to get weird and reflective between the throbbing outburst and violent spasms. Mean, loud, and 100% TOTAL PUNK! With amps to 11 and bad vibes in the red, Foster Care manages to roll out a reckless punk spirit you rarely find in the genre that all too often defaults to paint-by-numbers primal cliche. The New York foursome - Chris Teenager, vocals; Patrick Sullivan, guitar; Jesse Crawford, bass; Allison Busch, drums - swerves in and out of control with ragged, blasting guitars and incessant, beating rhythms. Sprinkle in some snotty vocals that tilt from howl to scream and you have a sound reminiscent of that golden but brief time when punk was transitioning into hardcore with a wild barrage of spontaneity."
