More essential music from Taxi Girls (Canada) which includes Jamie Radu and Lynn Poulin (both previously of Pale Lips) ...the 7" full of push and shove as it pulls you into this crazy dance we call life...a bit more focus on tension/release--the pissed off and pushing through--than their previous 12"...getting in your face as it pulls you into its heartbeat...the A-side fast rainy-day rock n roll, stomping puddles and punching fog...the anger bleeding into the flipside but release of the tension coming through like the sun coming out on a rainy day, punching a fist in the air as the sun breaks out of a cloud, the 1-2 punch of the lipsmacker power pop surfacing as the record progresses, especially clear by the end of the B-side. This is bound to get the fool-hearted to get back and check themselves and give some inspiration for the brokenhearted. Stand back and let the Taxi Girls hit the defibrillator to get your heart pounding and feet moving in the right direction. A new Oscar nomination for best picture and direction 2024. — winch (green noise)
The b-side of this fresh TAXI GIRLS 7-inch features "The Lion's Share", a track that also transformed from its early roots as a bittersweet song about missing someone who still crosses your mind from time to time - and that, you know, probably still thinks about you too until revealing the innate perspective that this individual is taking up more mental space that they deserved. Letting go of them brings a fresh sense of freedom and even as their memory lingers, the reality is that you're better off now than you ever were before.

Anyone who says "There is no good music around anymore" needs to clean the wax out of their ears. Quebec Punk chicks Taxi Girls write & perform the best Punk/Pop you have heard in years. This delicious one sided EP from Wild Honey bops along with infectious total abandon from the vomit that you usually find on the back floor or coming through the speakers in a taxi. This is a great PUNK but with enough melody to keep the meter running all night, which is the negative part, there is just not enough of it! Luvit! -- James Dixon
Since forming in 2022, Taxi Girls have quickly gained a dedicated fan base with their electrifying live shows and infectious hooks. Their debut EP, "Coming Up Roses," will be released in July of 2023 on Wild Honey Records (vinyl, Europe) and Dirt Cult Records (cassette tape, USA)
