comp, taking one or two cuts from each of their 8 albums (1970 - 1978). The band started out doing acoustic blues, but then turning into a power-trio outfit. You have to give them credit for doing what they wanted no matter what was in fashion, and clearly never trying to create a hit record. And unlike most his age, I think bass player Casady sung praises of California punk in the early 1980s, and while know for an innovative bass playing, I also recall him forcing himself to get more basic by taping his fingers together.
