The first in a series of archival releases celebrating the expansive legacy of blues, soul, and funk icon Bobby Rush. This release unveils a collection of long-lost recordings originally created during Rush's mid-1970s collaboration with legendary bassist, producer, and arranger Cleveland Eaton. Designed as an homage to the era the songs emerged from, the vinyl packaging features a center die-cut sleeve exposing the record label beneath, alongside neon-inspired typography and visual elements meant to evoke the glow and energy of late-night disco clubs.
Bobby Rush (born Emmett Ellis Jr. in Homer, Louisiana on November 10th, 1933) is an American musician, composer, record producer, and singer. At the age of 83, he won his first Grammy Award for the album Porcupine Meat. He is inducted into the Mississippi Hall of Fame, and Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame.
