Otitis Media Records
I've been digging this band's long player since I discovered it and had assumed it was their only release. But I was wrong! This debut EP apparently comes from many years earlier...so this is their maiden voyage into the grooves of a record. All four cuts just great instrumentals, the closer "Kita-Kaze" [North Wind] my personal favorite, one of my favorites from this band (who has never had a weak moment), likely capturing the sounds and feelings of riding a swell, and if so, it does it just perfectly, like so many of the great songs on earth--full of restraint and release--easing into it, and then diving deep into it, you can feel the flutter of the board and almost taste the spray. Vital 7" slab of wax, essential listen for fans of surf rock!

- Chanbara (チャンバラ): The Japanese term for sword fighting or the samurai cinema genre. It comes from an onomatopoeia for the sound of clashing blades (like chan-chan and bara-bara).
- Ogin (お銀): A historical, affectionate, or traditional female name in Japan, frequently used in pop culture to reference female ninja or drifter characters.
