Dead Moon - Defiance - New LP

Another essential from Moon, accurately titled 3rd album, #3 in the same amount of years, ripping into a version of "Milk Cow Blues" to open the proceedings (as The Kinks did with The Kink Kontroversy in 1965) and then launching into the nonstop onslaught of Cole originals.  These Dead Moon albums from the early 1990s provided perfect timing to go commercial and cash in on the PNW grunge craze, and of course, Moon remained defiant as a raised fist, kicking over the cash register and knifing the heel into the concrete, always keeping it coming from the gut, this album wrapping the music around your throat and letting the barbs dig deep, pulling it taut until the blood surfaces, pushing the dagger into your heart, shoving you off and pulling you in, pushing you around and shaking your brain until your skull swells and you realize, oh this is what music sounds like when it's real, real as a clenched fist and raw as a bone. -- winch (green noise)
