I listen to a lot of new records, I’ll listen to anything & then something stands out that makes me go back & keep putting it on the turntable again. Vocally Thee Headshrinkers remind me a lot of the late Mark. E. Smith from The Fall, that spoken word “I can’t change a thing, & I don’t give a shit” narrating emotions over a hypnotic garage beat that sounds like it’s been recorded through a pipe punched in the side of the wall. A run through side one & flick over to side 2…. no filler, & you’re looking for indoor plants to smoke as you convulse with this unrestrained pure street filth that is just so great. I really like this record & I still think Property Of The Lost might just well be pumping out some of the best shit from the UK. The King might be dead, but great Rock n Roll lives forever! Recorded over three days at Ranscombe Studios with Jim "Medway Sound" Riley at the helm. Mostly laid down with one take, these are twelve tracks driven by the bass line, with no middle eights, making repetition an art form. Rob Wilde spits on past beefs, characters from his misspent youth and horror B movies. Gino turns his Vox Phantom into a full fuzz incendiary device, all held together by the fast and loose garage beat.
