Frida Kill – City Gurl – New LP

The second full length LP from Frida Kill called “City Gurl” is a release by Insecurity Hits in collaboration with Get Better Records. These vinyl records have been manufactured to perform to the highest standards by our partners at Precision Record Pressing. "City Gurl," maintains the emphasis on songs with urgent messages like it's predecessor "Kill! Kill!" but expands on Frida Kill's sonic palette, including droning songs that build to a crescendo ("The Crowd," "Chinatown Bus," "Burn It Down"), tracks that will fire up the mosh pit ("Pain Killer"), soulful Spanish language tracks ("La Rosa Peligrosa") and the title track which already has proved to be a fun, infectious fan-favorite.

 and pairs that with Avant Garde flourishes synonymous with the sound of New York City's most iconic bands. This repertoire is delivered with the freewheeling swagger of artists that spend a decent amount of time in the drinking establishments of Bushwick, Brooklyn. Frida Kill have a special love for bands like L7, Bikini Kill, Sonic Youth, Coathangers, The Slits, Hole, FIDLAR, Together Pangea, Plasmatics, X, PJ Harvey, ESG and The Breeders. The stew that is the Frida Kill sound is being stirred by four women of marginalized backgrounds living in post-pandemic Brooklyn who have perspectives that will make you stop and listen.
