Paint Fumes – What a World – New LP

Regular price $ 17.00 $ 0.00

Pushing through some melancholy without letting those bluesy unknowns get the best of you, jangle and haggle, you can hear the clicking of heels, the memories at the very least, the clinking of glass as you get together with friends, pour yourself a drink of punk rock and Old Granddad, often when punks get reflective, it leaves me feeling uneasy, but leave it to Get Hip to lead me to albums like this, ones that open up the conversation but get up and kick the amps, explore some territory that runs between the Box Tops and the Dead Boys, somewhere between Link Wray and the Everly Brothers, a crow and a freight train, mostly this sounds like a road trip to wide-open spaces and tired-eyed realizations, maybe a trip up the Appalachian Trail, or maybe from North Carolina to the Pacific Ocean, where you end up is not the point, you can't beat the wonderful freedom and loneliness that only the road can bring, Memphis, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, the wide-open mountains and deserts of the western states, rolling through the cities at night, stopping to see a friend and telling old stories to the new squeeze, slowing down to see the scenery, pushing the pedal letting it rip through some barren landscape, sitting back and pondering on the things you haven't had the time to explore...like what a world we're living on and what a trip life ends up being.  -- winch
"Our favorite punk trio from North Carolina! Brilliant songs full of angst and unhinged energy in an introspective self-deprecating and chaotic style that yet comes out unscathed and triumphant!" -- Get Hip.
