Dishrags, The – Three [1978-79 Canadian Punk w/booklet + stickers] – New LP

Regular price $ 27.00 $ 0.00
kick set of punk songs from this Canadian outfit of teenage girls, three girls and two chords, 1-2-3-4, sounding like they grabbed up that BC influence that was lighting that shit on fire, taking new wave and strangling it with their own skinny ties, not squeezing all the 1960s pop from the music but making sure this is punk rock and not some watered-down new-wave version of that bottle of fire, shaking it up and ripping it out like there's no yesterday and no tomorrows.  Go! -- winch

The Dishrags may very well be the first all-women punk rock group in North America. Formed in 1976 in Victoria and later relocating to Vancouver, the Dishrags played Vancouver’s first-ever punk rock gig and went on to bump elbows with the Clash, the Ramones, the Avengers, and countless others. features 20 songs – the trio’s entire studio output (3-song single, plus 2 songs for Vancouver Complication), 1 rare live track, and 14 high-quality soundboard recordings.

“A killer piece of Canadian punk history.”
– Gregory Adams, Exclaim!

“This is an essential release for anyone who cares about first-generation Vancouver punk, all-girl rock bands, or early punk in general.” – Allan MacInnis, The Georgia Straight

“Various unreleased studio recordings as well as some good quality live recordings (including their opening slot for the Clash in 1979). It’s raw, primal punk that sounds amazing!” – Ty Stranglehold, Razorcake

Contains an updated 16-page booklet with detailed history, posters, tons of photos, two stickers. 1100 copies.
