Turrentine, Stanley with the 3 Sounds - Blue Hour – Used LP
G+ / G + decent listening copy, but plenty of crackle...it definitely went to the party but didn't get totally trashed. Some sections sound relatively clean, while other sections have more crackle. No skips on my turntable, but it might on other systems.
Probably mid-70s circa pressing. The big B on the label is black rather than the big B in while shown on the 1975 pressing on discogs, and I can't find this variant on discogs, but to be the blue note label seems 1970s.
The 3 Sounds are the ultimate backing team, the band from Benton Harbor (and while I'm sure plenty of small Black towns in the south exit, from my decades in the rust belt, BH was the only town its size that was clearly a Black town...(white) people argued that calling it Benton Harlem was racist--and maybe rightly so because the people using it might have been racist--I'd argue alluding to Harlem was a great compliment.
