PREORDER: LEATHERMAN – TURN YOU ON [IMPORT GREEN NOISE EXCLUSIVE GREEN VINYL AUSSIE] – New LP
PREORDER TODAY. SHIPPING APRIL 30, 2025.
the Legless/Green Noise axis (bold as blood) continues with this debut long-player from this self-described "Hard rockin', power poppin' band," the album collecting all their singles and offering up seven new songs, the band not caring about fitting neatly into some category or sub-genre, covering a lot of ground, from lost love to senseless violence...maybe a melding of Bad Reputation LP (1977) and Bad Reputation LP (1980), but that's an oversimplification and maybe not even accurate...stop listening to me and rock out to the sample cuts! -- winch
With ideas melted together in the bedroom studios of guitar obsessed nerds, songs forged in the rehearsal studios of Frankston, Yarraville and Brunswick, filed down in the best and loudest dive bars of Melbourne/Naarm, then refined, recorded and polished into their first full length record - rock’n’rollers Leatherman present to you their debut album “Turn You On” out April on Legless Records in Australia, This Charming Man in the UK/EU and Green Noise in the US.
The quintet features a lineup of rockers brought together via a love of melody-driven rock and roll - if you imagine the finest 70’s guitar-mony laden anthems, the stomp and gallop of 80’s metal gods and classic power pop hooks fused with modern kicks, perhaps you’ll get the idea. Jarrod Goon, Jake Laderman, Shauna Boyle and Ben Redlich each hold rock and roll resumes of note, while new-comer Annabel Brown punches in with a voice that gets you wondering “where have you been all my life?”
Leatherman are a band that aims to get you punching the air, tapping your toes and banging that head, then planting that ear-worm melody you won’t be able to shake for days. “Turn You On” features a lineup of songs about partying, freaking out, true crime, taking the piss out of footy players, lust and heartbreak. A band that emphasizes the good time and encourages the listener to remember the reason why we do it all in the first place - to have fun and forget the troubles of your day.
Rollins quotes: “I do not know anything about this band” “It’s really really cool”.

'MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE'
‘Murder in the First Degree’ offers a healthy dose of the familiar guitarmonies Leatherman has become known for. This new single delves into heavier territory than previous tracks, touching on elements of early Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Vocalist Annabel Brown says “Jarrod came in with this evil ass, heavy metal song and I wanted to write something scary enough to live up to the vibe. Friend of the band, Chip Monck, lends his voice as ‘the judge’, sentencing the subject to ‘burn in the pits of hell for all eternity’. Known most famously as the master of ceremonies and ‘brown acid guy’ from Woodstock 1969, Monck’s career as a lighting and stage designer has spanned nearly seven decades, working with The Rolling Stones, Hendrix and countless other legends of rock & roll. “Chip was beyond a pleasure. He was such a gentleman, so generous with sharing his experiences, advice and encouragement.”
