While Radio Birdman ripped apart the 1970s, cooked it up and served it up on platters for all of us to feast on, fuck that shit up, Deniz Tek was getting back to it and cooking with gas in the 1990s, cooking up some tasty feasts of rock n roll music...maybe like a lot of bands and artists, saying good riddance to the 1980s music that featured a few too many cooks in the kitchen and got all clogged up with too many intentions, Tek and the band doing it up while clearly not trying to fit in with some hip stylings of prettiness or extreme, doing what they wanted to do because anything else was never an option, getting the sounds of rock n roll music back to something real as spit and sweat while charging forward like a herd of buffalo, coming from the gut and never looking back...and now finally Tek's recordings from the 1990s available on vinyl, pressed in Italy by Wild Honey Records, and available exclusively in the US here at Green Noise Records...earlier the reissue of Take it to the Vertical (originally released on CD and cassette in Europe and Australia in 1992) on a Green Noise exclusive green vinyl, and next up, this special edition of his Outside LP (originally released in Australia on CD in 1994) on Green Noise exclusive dirty-white vinyl (white w/ black specks and smears), this double-album collection housing the entire Outside LP plus a bunch of other essential cuts from that era, cuts from an EP, a few live cuts and a few unreleased recordings. Essential junk from this Michigander who found his footing in Australia. -- winch

Wild Honey Records is very proud to present, for the first time on vinyl, and in an expanded version, the quintessential DENIZ TEK album: OUTSIDE. Originally released in March 1994, quickly becoming one of the most appreciated TEK collection of songs, it was also the first album with the enduring line-up of Deniz, Jim Dickson from The Barracudas and The New Christs, with the addition of two younger generation members of Sydney’s 80’s hard rock band The Celibate Rifles: Kent Steedman and Nik Rieth.
Following Take It To The Vertical, Outside is a more aggressive album, featuring a higher energy approach, sustained by a band that could reliably pack a solid punch and match Deniz’s onstage stamina while delivering more grit and a harder edge. Deniz played his 60’s Epiphone Crestwood and Robin Machete guitars through the same Marshall Mk2 head he had used in the UK with Birdman in 1978. Highlights of these sessions include DAY TO RIDE, featuring Pip Hoyle’s rolling thunder piano chords, the killer title track OUTSIDE, done in one smoking hot take, destroying the bass amp in the process, the enduring live classic BLOOD FROM A STONE.

In addition to the songs originally released on INSIDE album, this double-LP release also includes the songs originally included on INSIDE OUT (a bonus promotional disc included with some editions of Inside) and also the songs from the EP 444: the Number of the Beat. (After extended touring in Europe and a few west coast shows in America, the band went back into the studio, to record 6 more songs that appeared on the EP “444, The Number Of The Beat," featuring a version of The Stooges NOT RIGHT with Rob Younger on vocals.). All these sessions, unreleased tracks, and a couple of extra live recordings, are included for the first time in this expanded Gatefold DOUBLE-LP, completed by never seen before photos, layout by Hervè Peroncini, and liner notes by Moses Horwitz. A must have for all Radio Birdman aficionados, Australian music enthusiasts and real rock’n’roll fans.
