MD. British Jazz multi-instrumentalist, a player of the alto, baritone and soprano saxophones and flute, and has won two BBC and two Parliamentary Jazz Awards.
Born of Ghanaian parents 10 July 1964 Nottingham, UK. Tony took up alto at the age of 17. After graduating he moved to London, playing with the Jazz Warriors and later with Gary Crosby's Nu Tropp. Starting out as part of the legendary Jazz Warriors, Kofi went on to work with nearly every important band on the UK scene throughout the 1990s, from Lonnie Smith, Billy Higgins and US3 to the searching bands of Branford Marsalis, Julian Arguelles and David Murray. During the 2000s he worked in Claude Deppa's A.J.E. & Horns Unlimited, Indigo, and the Grand Union Orchestra. He also lead his own ten-piece Afro Jazz Family, his own quintet, and own quartet.
