Wonderful hardcover book with wonderful writing (and lots of pictures too).  It's so interesting that now we look back at the postwar years as a glory time for the automobile, but Ken clearly sees the present (his present, the 1940s) as a time when the automobile has lost all its charm and power, which when it's just part of a cookie cutter assembly line and looks back at specific makes and models of the glory days of the automobile.  He also looks ahead to "the future." - winch
