corny crazzee bubblegummy fun from 1964 "inspired by the TV characters," not really packaged as the characters playing, but just a band with songs about Munsters and monsters, mostly vocal cuts, three instrumentals. It's part of the more awful side surf and hot rod rock albums from this era by barely named or confusingly named or not named bands, complete with heaps of truly awful songs, great stuff. Side two is even better (and/or worse), opening with the awful "TV Monster Show," which is so great, and then the surf instrumental "Eerie Beach" (don't look out Dick Dale), the truly awkward "You Created a Monster" where they try to make a broken heart song into a monster song, complete with a corny cool garage sound, and sort of the same idea with "Ride the Midnight Special," awkwardly trying to make a garage train song into a monster song, and of course along the way, naming lots of USA towns so we are pulled in to be part of the fun, or so is the idea, the side ending with the basement rock instrumental "Down in the Basement." -- winch (green noise)
