Maggie's Marshmallows – S/T [CREAM VINYL] – New LP
Regular price
$ 18.00
Garage goo crawling out of the witch's stew, sticky and thick as a tar pit, influences might be Guantanamo Baywatch, Detroit Cobras, the Cramps and of course the source of it all, the garage rock of the 1960s.
LTD. ED. CREAM COLOR VINYL. Debut album by Prague (Czech Republic) Garage-Punk trio. Recorded and produced by Detroit's Jim Diamond (Dirtbombs, The White Stripes, Fleshtones, The Cynics,...). Raw, wild female vocals reminiscent of The Brood and 60’s Girl Garage bands and really cool surf-tinged guitar sound.

The Maggie’s Marshmallows, a young garage-punk trio grown in the moldy basement of a forgotten substation in Prague. Influenced by the fuzzed-out, underground sounds on the Back From The Grave compilations and shaped by surf tunes, ‘60s punk, and Mexican soap opera soundtracks, this female-fronted Czech three-piece packs a wallop! Garage, dark and dirty! Recorded at Studio de la Trappe in South France, The Maggie’s Marshmallows features 12 tracks written throughout the band’s career. Featuring production by the legendary Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, Fleshtones, Dirtbombs, The Cynics), the album is a testament to the group’s evolving moods, tempered by an undercurrent of contemporary musical tastes; an LP filled to the brim with thick layers of reverb, primitive riffs, primordial rhythms—and guest organs by Jim Diamond himself! Dark and dirty, indeed.
