Elektriske Plader Records
Another punk-rock comp from Elektriske Plader Records, this time all these great Copenhagen bands doing covers of Misfits songs, these outfits and Misfits a great match, like fangs in the neck!!! Action-packed, kicks into action from the get-go with the punk rock of Troop Transport, every band infused with that Copenhagen thing that I can't really explain (because they don't sound alike... punk rock, HC, cold wave, synth punk, death rock, garage rock, garage punk...) and of course the Misfits helping glue it all together, the bands avoiding pointless redundancy, moving from fairly faithful to respectful of original intent to pretty much sounding like fuck you, bite me. Crank this one really loud. I'm sure crazed Misfits fans won't like every cut, but for me, it's all pretty great, the coldwave contrasted with the grind of garage punk, the more restrained cuts helping launch the release of other ones, ending with the short faster louder just like it should. I'm crazy in the head for covers, but tribute albums usually seem so varied to me, but this one gave me a big kick from go to whoa. Which came as no surprise after that last copenhagen comp from this label. thanks to Elektriske Plader for always picking Green Noise to help get their platters to the people in the Americas. -- winch
