While they were from the UK, and clearly picked up some of that early 1970s Suzi Quatro glam rock on some cuts, we have to remember that while Suzi might have moved to the UK in the early 1970s to find an audience in England at least, the glam sound clearly came from back home in middle America, from Detroit down to Alabama (and wherever else the Great Migration stretched out to, up to New York, Boston, Pennsylvania and out to L.A.) and this band sounds like the sleeve suggests, clearly inspired by the sounds of Muscle Shoals, scads of swagger and sass backed with loud guitars, lifted on a heavy bottom, and punched home with plenty of horns, ignored or worse in the States because male chauvinists and for better or worse even the other side at the time likely not ready for this where and when the 1960s were over and selling sexy and women's liberation had to be kept separate, America in 1974 not ready for these mothertrucking ladies who had clearly burned their bras and as the music clearly tells, were much more than just sexy seat covers, headed down the Mississippi to Memphis, focusing on originals but also offering covers of The Vibrations ‎1968 "Love In Them There Hills" (Gamble-Huff); Soul Survivors ‎1967 "Explosion In My Soul" (Gamble-Huff) and closing the set with Sam & Dave's 1968 "Wrap It Up" (David Porter - Isaac Hayes), recorded in Hollywood, but never released in the USA until now. Truck on out and spread the news. -- winch (green noise)

"A truckload of lumbering cuts with funk grooves and glammy swagger. Where do you find a funked out rock feel without any Y chromosomes? The West London borough of Hounslow, of course. Billboard called them a “women’s lib rock group,” which fits as they were liberally liberating hooks while being proud of their sexuality. First ever US pressing, strictly limited to 500 copies all pressed on colored vinyl! Includes: Goin’ Back • Big Mama • Tonight • Fancy Dan • Shine It On • Love In Them There Hills • Rock N’Roll Lady • When I’m Alone With You • Propeller Love • Explosion In My Soul • Billy John • Wrap It Up "
