Mechanical Canine – To My Chagrin – New LP

Drums and bass for this album were recorded by Jake Hoffpauir at Retro City Studios in Philadelphia, PA on July 29th 2023.

Jake works there, so he stayed up all night the night before to set up mics. Jamie worked very hard on drums all day long, and nailed most of the songs in a couple takes. Jon did an alright job playing bass on the live takes, but still overdubbed a lot of it later. James bounced between doing scratch takes in the live room and heckling from the control room. Wendy's messed up my order when we took a food break. Piano overdubs happened at Drexel on September 28th 2023. I think we did synths the next day too. Bass and guitar overdubs were recorded intermittently from August to December 2023. Those happened at Lucky Aide and Hoff Power Station. Vocal overdubs were recorded in James's closet. The whole thing was mixed and produced by James Walsh. Mastered by Jake Hoffpauir. Artwork by Dev Lamb. Photos by Ruby Goren and @roadhousediy, and all this shit was laid out by Jon in 2024 <3."
