Terremotor -Veneno Da Cana [SAND MARBLED VINYL: LIMITED GREEN NOISE EXCLUSIVE COLOR; Instrumental Surf Rock; Brazil] – New LP
SURF ROCK FROM BRAZIL, LIMITED GREEN-NOISE EXCLUSIVE edition of 40, Translucent SAND MARBLED vinyl with hand-numbered sleeve.
Green Noise's biggest seller from the Otitis Media label has been the surf rock 7" from Umuarama, Brazil's Terremotor Otitis Media) so we are proud to offer Terremotor's new debut album in a Green Noise-exclusive limited edition of 40, translucent SAND MARBLED vinyl with flecks and streaks to match other colors on the hand-numbered sleeves, the sounds enough to make me laugh loud as a hyper child with the wonder of how bands can make instrumental surf rock 60 years later and still make every moment a total joy!
This band definitely does it, just nail it, make you want to crank it, each of the songs coming from the same place but rising into its own wave of cool sounds, the rhythm powering it along, and the band adding something to the formula to make every ride feel like it's never been done before, the boys from Umuarama, Brazil easing into the set with a paddle out past the breakers, and then jumping up and racing into the waves, traveling down the coastline to different exotic locales, stirring up the dark waters and then racing off to the shores, cutting along the break and relaxing under the flames of a beach fire...jumping the pond and searching for that endless summer, over to the warm Mediterranean "Alborean Waves" between Spain and Morocco, mixing sounds of those lands to the surf instrumentals...heading into town for a brew and an intoxicated toast to the Ventures...and a nod to the Champs...guitars floating over the bassline like surfboards over the rhythms of the ocean...the two forces conversing and weaving like a conversation on "Espinhela Caida," the surf controls direction of travel, and travel swerves under its own motor...the lightning-fast closer cut like the final ride of the day when the ocean is swelling and sun is sinking and you're pulling everything you can from that last wave. A good ride makes you want to go again, and that's the way it is with this album, the end just making you want to drop what you're doing and drop your needle into these grooves again, surf rock to take you away from the cold and quarantine to the warm amps and golden sun-soaked sand of Brazil -- winch
"Terremotor is a surf rock band founded in 2015 by Duda Victor (guitar), Paulo Tropa (drums) and Jose Duarte (bass). Both Paulo Tropa and Jose Duarte are also members of Nega Jurema. Duda Victor has been a member of two surf bands, Bufalos d’Agua (Londrina, Brazil) and Dirty Fuse (Athens, Greece). The day these three met was the beginning of the first surf rock band in Umuarama City."
