In 2015, Fat Possum/Hi Records released the double CD "The Essential Ann Peebles" packed with 40 songs from 1969 - 1978 from sessions with producer Willie Mitchell and then distilled that down to 16 songs that fill this single LP. While I'd suggest snabbing all her albums from this era, this serves as a stunning overview and solid entry point. Every cut here is amazing.
