Good from the get-go, but growing even stronger with every listen…let that new jacket spin a few times and slip it over your shoulders…I’ve had this spinning on my record machine for days now…can’t really pick up what exactly that woman is saying about but couldn’t care less, definitely get what’s going on, get what she and the band are putting down…maybe hellbound but also ready to lend a helping hand…a healthy and refreshing dose of honesty running through it...intentions intact, plenty of spontaneity taking over...garage punk-rock drive hopping, sidestepping and punching out of the garage right into an electricity charged dark cloud that sometimes seems a swirl of psychedelic and death rock…something almost light as your friend’s sister backhanding through her Newport cigarette smoke also oddly enough seeming heavy as a steamroller rolling over a hot bed of steaming black tar…clearly having a blast and keeping it fun while tackling something with some weight to it...mostly at the core, a tattered jacket of maximum rhythm n blues…rock n roll…call it what you like…influences of a few 1960s garage, 1970s punk and Dirtnap bands possibly popping up, and then whacking them down with a mallet...hard to nail it down because while it all seems so cohesive and definitely something similar about all the songs, one moment hints of rough-hewn version of garage power-popping and the next you think what was I thinking, this is devoid of what at least I'd call pop…even Cadillac creeping down a dark alley at one moment…1-2-3 1-2-3-4 socking it to you the next…javelins of rock n roll spiraling, plenty going on but cutting excess to wrap the noise around the songs, powering it along rather than dragging it down, sometimes clearly struggling to push through the overwhelming bullshit of life on planet earth, but dynamite blasting through, swerving but never stumbling, packing everything into one thing, slowing only to soon enough dart off into the darkness lighting the way with a flame of electricity. -- winch
