Wicked Pickett 1971.  What else you need to know?  Lots of Pickett originals, smoking versions of Stevie Wonder's "You Can't Judge a Book by its Cover," Jackie Avery's "Your Love Has Brought Me A Mighty Long Way," (which features Pickett on harmonica), Free's "Fire and Water," and a funked up version of Three Dog Night's "Mama Told me Not to Come" (original versions all coming from 1970, but "Mama" was actually written for Eric Burden by Randy Newman several years earlier), and also going back for some of the material, "Pledging My Love," (originally a posthumous R&B number 1 hit for Johnny Ace in 1955).  The set rarely Wilson is backed with the Memphis Horns and the Pickers--Dennis Coffee (which I assume is Dennis Coffey) and Tippy Armstrong on guitars, Roger Hawkins, Eddy Brown and Jack Ashford on percussion, Dave Crawford and Barry Beckett on keyboards and David Hood on bass.  Recorded at Muscle Shoals and Atlantic Studios in New York.
