While still delivered in their signature garage-punk sounds, this single also has a sound all its own, purposely using Richard Hell and the Voidoid's classic "Time" (from their second and final album) as part of the inspiration, the slowing of their typical tempo also helps bring out the 1960s influence in Bee Bee Sea's sound.  (And I can't help wonder if that entire second Richard Hell and the Voidoid's album had some influence on this Bee Bee Sea single...as well as other seminal 1970s NYC underground rock artists and their ability to swerve between explosive and introspection...and of course, the grey cloud of the pandemic...which maybe made the early 2020s somehow resonate with the era [late 1970s-early 1980s] that that second Voidoid LP emerged from.) At first, I was like, what the shit, why you slowing the tempo for this single, but this ends up being one of my all-time favorite Bee Bee Sea songs, an essential part of their impressive run of making great big sticky globs of punk rock 'n roll!  --winch (green noise)
