in glorious MONO.

Based on the eye-logo Columbia label, this is probably 1960s.  It's a comp I assume--based on "Latest Hits" title.  The vocals and guitar are at the top of the mix, beautiful traditional Mexican female and male, wonderful interplay of guitar and organ.  Other instruments also showing up, vibes, claps, and either harmonica or accordion. People who know Mexican music much better than I might hear some elements of New York and attempts to crossover in here, but it all seems very authentic and sincere to me.  I can't help think how this is superior to the folk music of New York at this time (late 1950s-early 1960s I assume).  Muy romántico and beautiful enough to bring a tear to eyes of even the cold hearted, the music seemingly filled with centuries of both the heavy yoke of struggle and the lifting of the weight with the promise of hope..  - winch

"Los Panchos (also known as the Trío Los Panchos) was an internationally famous Mexican trío romántico, formed in New York in the 1940s, known for its romantic ballads and boleros. First members were Chucho Navarro, Alfredo Gil and Hernando Avilés, all on guitar (requinto) and vocals."
