Total Death Mechanics – The Nasty Pterodactyl [BLUE VINYL; Instrumental Surf Rock] – New 7"
Instrumental surf rock from Corpus Christi, coming out of punk bands, they have the focused forward drive, but also focus on primal above perfection, a mix of dirty and clean waves...showing how surfing is done without showing off...sounding like they're on the wake of those oil-leaking tankers as they churn across the Gulf of Mexico in the smoggy skies off the docks of Texas.

"We’ve been a band since the mid 90’s but never put anything out until the 7”. Better late than never I guess. We used to dress up and do this whole Andy Kaufman different character Schlick. I didn’t always wear the fishnets and pearls but we were doing Rocky Horror Picture show songs for Halloween! We had a greasy Gene Shallot with capes vibe. And when we spoke it was in New York mafia guy accents. The bass player “Crisp” was French. My name was “Seeyouattheparty Richter!” The drummer was “El Diablo que hase trofeos de Los Hombres” and the other guitar player was “Let off some steam Bennet!”. The phrase names were from Schwarzenegger movies. Don’t ask me why. But then our shows became more about the harangings and banter and less about the music. And as more and more surf/instro bands wear luchador masks, and use gimmicks, nowadays we actually enjoy playing as normal middle aged fat guys. We now joke that these guys died and we’re just a Total Death cover band."
