Each image will be only printed once, always in a limited edition, usually in an edition of 10. What better band to start with than The Gories.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e(This image was from a reunion show, as even though I was in Michigan in the 1980s, even sometimes working at a shop in Detroit and doing contract work throughout the region, I never witnessed a Gories show in the 1980s...but I never regret junk like that, and boy oh boy--the reunion show was fantastic!)\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e------------------------------\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile \u003ca rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=the+gories\" href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=the+gories\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ethe Gories\u003c\/a\u003e mostly went unnoticed at the time, in retrospect they were big-ass dirtbombs chucked in the swimming pool of american music, splashing mud, ripples spreading out, still coloring the waters today.  So many bands rose out of this muddy water, surfaced in the wake of the Gories, a band that fueled their music with the fire inside, and the fire that was burning in their city all their lives, and the fire that was the music of 1945 - 1965, post war blues, \u003ca rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=John+Lee+Hooker\" href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=John+Lee+Hooker\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eHooker\u003c\/a\u003e and Kirkland, \u003ca rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=Bo+Diddley\" href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=Bo+Diddley\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eBo Diddley\u003c\/a\u003e and 60s garage, obscure \u003ca rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=Detroit\" href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=Detroit\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eDetroit \u003c\/a\u003eoutfits. The bands of \u003ca rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=Detroit\" href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=Detroit\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eDetroit \u003c\/a\u003ewere often seen as ahead of the times, but in many ways they were so far behind, ignoring most of everything that had been happening recently.  \u003ca rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=Detroit\" href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=Detroit\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eDetroit\u003c\/a\u003e \u003ca rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=1969\" href=\"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/search?q=1969\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e1969\u003c\/a\u003e might have been the biggest influence on punk that ever existed, but in a way it was behind, coming out of black music and mid 60s garage, mostly ignoring all the recent fads of country rock and progressive rock, living that loud sound because it was their own, industrial and isolated by geography, poverty and racism, from places where factories ran the cities and blacks were the majority.  What the Gories and other Wanghead bands did in the 1980s was in many ways similar to what Detroit bands did in the late 60s, getting behind the wheel of an old eight banger of yesterday and charging forward like there is no tomorrow. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Green Noise Records","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46657971323041,"sku":"700498004114","price":100.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0635\/1427\/files\/48448A7C-1DB2-484C-A335-C4EDF0735AFB.jpg?v=1783380274","url":"https:\/\/store.greennoiserecords.com\/products\/gories-the-limited-print","provider":"Green Noise Records","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
