Booty People – S/T - Used LP
vinyl: VG/VG (actual item in snapshots)
Deep into the disco years and while this is clearly aware of that, this focuses on the funk, a mix of tempos, dancefloor burners, mid-tempo numbers and even slow-burning waterbed soul--with rock and funk that throws back to a few years previous, P-funk as likely their biggest influence, both Parliament and Funkadelic, loaded with electric guitar licks that brings out not just the Funkadelic influence, but Isley Brothers, Isaac Hayes and Jimi Hendrix, and of course loaded with rhythm, lead and rhythm guitars and actually a double dose of everything, 2 guitarists, 2 drummers, and 2 bass players. The set gets serious when discussing the subject of love, and when they get busted and imprisoned late in the set, stuck busting rocks and pressing license plates, but mostly this focuses on the fun and playful. The Booty People have arrived in the SS Booty on shores of Booty Land...let the funky rumpus begin. -- winch (green noise records)
