GREEN VINYL!! Limited edition (100 pressed).

While the title of the album alludes to the title track, it also seems a fitting title for the whole album, the set driving down a blacktop full of late nighttime, from midnight to 6, man, embracing and cursing the night, waiting for the world to turn so the sun can chase away the shadows and bring some warmth to the ground, personal thoughts and feelings and stories heavily hinting to something more universal, the night time is right time for so many things, so late in the nighttime it's early in the morning waiting for that time to shine some light on the situations, commentary on the climate of today, without making it too obvious or didactic, musically calling on the ghosts of Leadbelly and Chuck Berry, recalling so many of Tek's contemporaries, some who didn't make it but had a way of talking about it, like Danny Whitten with Crazy Horse, Sonic Smith, Wayne Kramer, Kim Simmonds, Bob Seger, and Mick Taylor, the set moving through different viewpoints and settings, from the almost hopeful to the hellbound moods. -- winch

Long Before Day is the new full length LP on Wild Honey Records from Deniz Tek, co-founder and chief songwriter of the Australian iconic band Radio Birdman and prolific solo artist. Deniz’s vocals and signature guitar playing are complemented and interlaced with the guitar work of Anne Tek. The hard driving rhythm engine of veteran Bob Brown on bass and Keith Streng (from The Fleshtones) on drums provide a rock steady foundation. The twelve all new and original songs cover a spectrum of tempo and emotion. Taking One For The Team evokes Exile-period Stones. Truck and Roll channels Chuck Berry. Speak of Ice is an introspective dreamscape inspired by fourteenth century Persian poetry and Howlin’ Wolf.  Ain’t Gonna (Stand for That) is a revolutionary anthem, a soulful reckoning that the hour is late. Recording on tape with old-school techniques bring spontaneity and a live feel to the sessions. This album will satisfy fans of Tek, but also extends his sounds in new and unexpected directions.
