Snappy Little Numbers
Green Noise exclusive!!! Limited-edition version of Jiffy Marx 7" (Snappy Little Numbers) hits the streets, picture-sleeve edition, 50 copies, less than half remaining, brought to you from Snappy Little Numbers and this one clearly fits that descriptor, a pair of snappy little numbers coming from the garage and headed down the road, catchy power-pop punk from Vancouver BC Canada, motoring over short bridges and delivering the goods in about 2 minutes at a time, clearly built from parts from the 1960s but also hubcap halo glitter and the 1980s, popping like bubblegum and moving along like a deuce coupe souped up and stripped down. While Jiffy Marx's band Autogramm clearly had a rebuilt engine pulled from Numan's car and The Cars, this has a somewhat different sound but still sounding like it's part of what I like to called Canada Rock, just a genre name I made up and felt it needed to be named, that power-pop vehicle that pulled into the radar circa 1970 and never stopped to this day, clearly fueled its tank from Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley, mod, beat, and glam but never took itself too seriously and stayed uniquely Canadian. You can still hear it in Ottawa, you can hear it in Vancouver, and you can hear it in the year 2020 in the grooves of this 7" from Snappy Little Numbers. -- winch (green noise records)
