Crime of Passing - S/T [Pearl vinyl] – New LP

Regular price $ 25.00 $ 0.00

The last of the pearl-color vinyl first pressing, debut LP from Crime of Passing, another essential from Feel It Records, another kick set from Cincinnati Ohio from 2022, a cattle prod to your eardrum, while a robot hand runs her fingers through your hair, her joints leaking blue coolant and clear gold petroleum oil, the music packed with sounds but moving along, almost cinematic at times but focused on songs, a metric engine bolted into a rust-belt built truck, bed packed with scrap and electronics headed into the icy unknown of the future down a black top built over four decade ago, bouncing over the tracks and cracks of Great Lake winters, moving along at various velocities, the load packed with tension and strapped in clips crunched on metal bands and packed with tension but busting out of the industrial outskirts into the release of open spaces, moving along while the load is tinsnip clipped while the bed is tipped and the load dumped into the road, the load lightened while snaking through the landscapes, audio thoughts snaking like vapor trails into the cabin, filling the empty spaces like gas into a tank, the dark cold skies crackling with electricity.  (Sorry to say it like that, but that's what it sound like to me.) -- winch (green noise records)

A stunning combination of style, vision, and execution. Crime of Passing, alongside related projects like The Serfs and The Drin, are at the helm of Cincinnati, Ohio's vibrant post-punk underground. Led by Andie Luman's fervent vocals, Crime of Passing's self-titled debut album is a wondrously textured web of sound. Shades of early 80's post-punk, synth-driven electro pop, and heavier Industrial/Krautrock tones combine across an album both instantly memorable and futuristic. Nine cold tracks for a new dark age.
