Old records are like seeing old friends, wrap your arms around it and hold it close, which is just as great I think, just a different kind of good-time animal, but I live to find the new punk records that give me that injection, that feeling I can feel not only when I'm listening to it, but even when just thinking about listening to it, like just before I play it...and while this Marked Men record is an old record, it somehow gives me that new-music injection, and that's some amazing junk. They're also one of the more influential. You can pop the needle on \"Ghosts\" for 5 seconds and instantly be left without a doubt as to whom you are listening. It ain't pop-punk. It ain't power-pop. It ain't KBD or '77 style punk. Marked Men sound like absolutely no one but themselves. While still very much in the classic vein of Texan garage\/punk, Bad Sports are also bringing to mind the heyday of New York City punk.
